Development Phase Notice: Scrutify is currently under active development. While we take data protection seriously, bugs may occur and data loss is possible. We strongly advise you to maintain independent backups of all your data.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Scrutify, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and organization details provided during registration.
  • Financial Data: GST returns, TDS data, income tax computations, ledger entries, vouchers, invoices, and other accounting records you enter or import into the platform.
  • Business Information: GSTIN, PAN, TAN, entity details, bank account details for reconciliation purposes.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, IP address, browser type, and device information.
  • Files: Documents, Excel files, PDFs, and other files you upload for processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide accounting, tax compliance, and audit services through the platform.
  • Compute GST liability, TDS obligations, income tax, and generate compliance reports.
  • Send compliance reminders and deadline notifications.
  • Improve the platform, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your queries.
  • Ensure platform security and prevent unauthorized access.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Row-level security (RLS) policies on all database tables.
  • JWT-based authentication with automatic token refresh.
  • Role-based access control for organization members.

Important: As Scrutify is in its development phase, we strongly recommend that you regularly export and backup your data using the built-in export feature. While we take every precaution, we cannot guarantee against data loss during this phase.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties, except:

  • When required by Indian law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., Income Tax Act, GST Act).
  • With government portals (GST Portal, Income Tax Portal) only when you explicitly initiate filing through our platform.
  • With service providers who assist in platform operations (hosting, email), under strict confidentiality agreements.

5. GST & Tax Portal Integration

When you use our GST filing or Income Tax filing features, your data is transmitted directly to the respective government portals (via authorized GSP/API channels). We act as an intermediary and do not store your portal login credentials. OTP-based authentication is used for each filing session.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand usage patterns and improve the platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data at any time through the platform's export feature.
  • Correct inaccurate data by editing your records.
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at support@scrutify.in.
  • Export all your data in standard formats (Excel, JSON, PDF).

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Financial records are retained for a minimum of 8 years as required under the Income Tax Act, 1961, and GST Act, 2017, unless you request earlier deletion. Upon account deletion, data is permanently removed within 90 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Scrutify is designed for business use and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
